Rafael’s agent has revealed that the Brazilian wants to leave Manchester United for Galatasaray this summer.
The right-back was not part of the Man United squad which flew out for the pre-season tour of the United States and it is clear that he is on his way out of Old Trafford.
There were several clubs reportedly interested in the 25 year old including Napoli, Galatasaray and Fiorentina.
Rafael’s agent, Cassiano Pereira, believes that Galatasaray would be a perfect destination for his client.
“Rafael wants to play at Galatasaray,” he said.
“It would be great if he plays in a Galatasaray jersey this season.”
Rafael suffered three injuries last season that kept him out for over 100 days of the campaign. His injury record and erratic defending has convinced Louis van Gaal to sign Matteo Darmian from Torino instead.
Rafael can be very good going forward but he was often caught on the back foot when defending. United currently only have Antonio Valencia and Phil Jones as cover at right-back at the moment but with Darmian’s impeccable injury record, hopefully neither will have to be used in that position next term.
