Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Thursday was dominated by Victor Valdes after Louis van Gaal publicly announced his intention to sell the experienced goalkeeper during the first press conference of the pre-season tour of the United States.

According to van Gaal, Valdes refused to play for Man United’s U21s last season and did not believe in his “philosophy”.

The news came as a shock to United fans but it is clear that van Gaal is firmly establishing himself as the boss at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old revealed that he told Robin van Persie he would be leaving United during the club’s end-of-season golf day.

Van Persie was recently unveiled as a Fenerbahce player after reportedly suffering a breakdown in his relationship with van Gaal.

Van Gaal did reserve some praise for new signings Bastian Schweinsteiger and Matteo Darmian, but refused to be drawn on the transfer speculation surrounding David de Gea. Finally, the experienced coach indicated that he may be willing to give Javier Hernandez another chance next season.
