Manchester United fans delighted with Bastian Schweinsteiger debut

Bastian Schweinsteiger made his eagerly awaited Manchester United debut against Club America on Saturday and it is safe to say fans were buzzing.

Supporters were overjoyed when Louis Van Gaal announced that the German would play the second half of the friendly, in which United ran out 1-0 winners.

After coming on at half-time, Schweinsteiger slotted into a holding midfield role. Wearing the number 23 shirt, the 30-year-old showcased his trademark passing ability and dictated the game. Schweinsteiger really managed to show glimpses of what he is capable of, including a lovely flicked pass to set up a chance for Adnan Januzaj.

United fans obviously understand the significance of signing a player like Schweinsteiger. Now that the 30-year-old has whet their appetites, the supporters will be hungry for more from the German captain.
