Sergio Ramos must decide future this week as Manchester United rumours continue – report

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos faces a crucial week that will decide whether or not he becomes a Manchester United player, according to El Economista.

Ramos has reiterated his desire to leave Madrid having been labelled as a ‘mercenary’ by the Spanish press.

However, Madrid president Florentino Perez still wants the 29-year-old to stay at the Bernabeu and is prepared to handle the matter himself by flying to China, where Madrid are playing on their pre-season tour.

Perez will tell Ramos that staying at Madrid is the best option for him and the club.

It’s an interesting development, with Perez’s willingness to personally get involved a sign of how serious the situation has become.

Man United are keen on Ramos but it looks like they will only get the player if they agree to let David de Gea move the other way.

Louis van Gaal confirmed Ramos is in his thoughts during his press conference earlier this week so perhaps he is confident of the move coming off if he is prepared to go public with his interest.
