Di Maria has been the subject of intense speculation linking him with a move to PSG this summer and this weekend has been singled out as the Argentinian winger is set to join up with Man United on their pre-season tour for the game against Barcelona on Saturday.
PSG’s sporting director, Olivier Letang, is believed to have met Ed Woodward recently to discuss terms for Di Maria and a fee of £45m is what is being reported, which of course falls some way short of the £59.7m United paid Real Madrid last summer.
Di Maria started off last season in such devastating form but tailed off thanks to niggling injuries and his family remain unsettled in Manchester thanks to his house being burgled last year.
When it comes to foreign players having successful careers at Old Trafford, the happiness of their family is certainly something that can have a lot influence over that and you can understand Di Maria’s family not feeling settled after their home was burgled.
It would be a real shame to see Di Maria leave United before his career really had the chance to blossom but by all accounts it looks like PSG are pushing to finalise a deal for the Argentinian, sooner rather than later.
