Louis van Gaal has confirmed Angel di Maria didn’t fly out to join Manchester United on their pre-season tour and said he didn’t know why.
Reports from France last night said Man United had agreed a deal for Di Maria to join Paris St Germain and the Argentinian’s absence from tour will do nothing to quash those rumours.
Marcos Rojo has also not joined up with the squad but Van Gaal explained his absence was because of some troubles with his passport.
Both players were expected to link-up with teammates at Man United’s training base in San Francisco prior to their fixture against FC Barcelona but that has not happened.
LvG on Di Maria: "I have heard he was not on the plane. I cannot say anything. Marcos Rojo was not on the plane. Di Maria I don't know why.'

At the start of the summer, Di Maria leaving United didn’t look like a plausible option given that he was the club’s record signing and had only been at Old Trafford for one year. but that has quickly changed.
It looks like Di Maria has no intention of staying at United past this summer and with a move to PSG growing closer every day, there is every chance he will not be a United player for much longer.
