Victor Valdes still training with Manchester United despite falling out with Louis van Gaal

Victor Valdes is still training with Manchester United despite the furore that Louis van Gaal caused when he declared that the former Barcelona man did not fit into his philosophy.

Valdes signed for United in January as a backup to David de Gea and appeared twice for the club last season. He was seen as a possible replacement for De Gea should the Spanish international leave for Real Madrid during the summer.

Suspicion was aroused when Valdes did not join the team on their North American tour and the suspicion was confirmed when Van Gaal assured that Valdes would not be a part of United’s squad in the coming season for his unwillingness to train with the reserves last season.

All has gone quiet on the goalkeeping front at United in recent weeks and no bids have been formally made for Valdes to the knowledge of the general public.

Valdes has confirmed he is still training at United’s complex although there doesn’t appear to be any U-turn made by Van Gaal.

Van Gaal is renowned for his strong personality and strict rules regarding his philosophy but it appears that Valdes continues to work and is awaiting offers.
