Timothy Fosu-Mensah has put pen to paper on a three year professional contract with Manchester United.

The highly rated teenager enjoyed a superb debut campaign with Man United’s U18s last season having joined from Ajax and has been fast tracked into the U21s as a consequence.

Callum Gribbin, Zach Dearnley and RoShaun Williams also signed contracts with United this week which is fantastic for the academy to have secured their futures with the club.

Fosu-Mensah is one of the most exciting prospects in the academies. There are certain players that stand out when playing with the U18s or U21s and Fosu-Mensah is one of those.

He arrived at the club as a centre-back but his versatility has seen him play more often than not in a defensive midfield role which he has excelled in.

Physically, he is extremely well developed for his age which gives him an immediate advantage at that level but his game has more depth to it than just his raw strength and power.

Having had a strong season with the U18s, Fosu-Mensah will now be focused on doing the same thing with Warren Joyce’s U21s and he has got off to the best possible in their pre-season having already scored his first goal.
