Manchester United’s Vanja Milinkovic keen on loan move to Holland or Belgium

Vanja Milinkovic would prefer to be sent on loan to either Belgium or Holland than spend time playing for Manchester United’s academy sides.

The 18-year-old Serbian goalkeeper was signed in August 2014 and immediately loaned back to FK Vojvodina who Man United signed him from.

He has enjoyed a fantastic summer away on national duty with Serbia as they won the U20s World Cup and although he didn’t play a minute in the tournament, it’s invaluable experience for someone his age.

Speaking to, Milinkovic admitted he had no intention of playing for United’s youth sides and was instead focused on another loan spell.

He said: “My club has asked for a loan, it is still the search in the process. Staying in a youth team will almost certainly not happen, it is very likely that I will go on loan and that’s what I wanted.”

When asked about whether he’d like to go on loan in England or Europe, Milinkovic added: “It all depends, I sincerely hope, and I would most like to go on loan to Belgium or Holland, but we’ll see what the club decides soon.”

Joel Castro Pereira, Sam Johnstone and Kieran O’Hara are the three goalkeepers who would give Milinkovic the most competition in United’s younger teams but by the sounds of it he wants to play senior football instead.

United fans were keen to see what Milinkovic was made of but it looks like they will have to wait at least another season.
