Manchester United have made a €4m bid for Brazilian youngster Joao Pedro, according to Fox Sports Brasil.
Pedro, a 20-year-old right-back who plays for Palmeiras, caught the eye of Man United scouts at the U20 World Cup.
He would likely join United’s U21 side with a view to promotion to the senior set-up.
Supporters may points to the fact that United already have a talented Brazilian right-back at the club in Rafael but it appears Louis van Gaal has lost all faith in him.
Instead, van Gaal brought in Matteo Darmian this summer. The Italian was superb during United’s pre-season tour and looks to be a fantastic addition.
As for Pedro, it remains to be seen if he could handle to step up to United.
The club have signed the likes of Guillermo Varela and Angelo Henriquez in recent years but they’ve failed to make an impact on the first-team.
