Karim Benzema’s agent Karim Djaziri has said the French striker wants to play for Real Madrid next season and insists there have been no offers for him from any club.

Following a cryptic message a picture of himself on a private plane, Benzema sent speculation into overdrive last week over a potential move away from Real Madrid.

With Manchester United and Arsenal both in need of a new striker, fans were getting excited at the thought of Benzema making the move this summer but Djaziri has poured cold waters on the possibility of an exit.

“We haven’t received any proposals and Karim wants to stay at Real Madrid,” Djaziri said.

Rafael Benitez has also been discussing Benzema’s future and said he sees no reason why he would leave Real Madrid and that the club was very happy with him.

He said: “He will stay with us, I can’t see any reason why he would leave.

“We are very happy with him.”

Louis van Gaal may well be taking a different approach to solidifying his options in attack with a move for Pedro Rodriguez from FC Barcelona now being close to completion.

Memphis Depay has already said he considers himself as a striker and Van Gaal has played him in the No.10 role during the pre-season, so there is every chance he is not looking to bring in a new striker at all.

If he doesn’t, United would certainly be taking a risk in having only Wayne Rooney and James Wilson as his senior attacking options given how many games there will be this season.
