Manchester United’s pursuit of Pedro Rodriguez from FC Barcelona has dragged on over the last few weeks and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Today, Gazzetta Dello Sport in Italy have run with a bold story – “Pedro, goodbye to Barcelona. All done: is Manchester United!”

Gazzetta say a €35m agreement is complete and that Pedro has undergone the first part of a Man United medical. They cite Marca in Spain as the source of their story and their latest reports say a deal will be agreed this week, unless there is something in their paper edition which states otherwise.

So far, we’ve had destination Manchester…

Now we’ve had reports that Pedro to United is all done and the fact Angel di Maria has joined Paris St-Germain means Louis van Gaal would surely want to push through a deal for the Spaniard as soon as possible.

At this stage, it really does look like a matter of when and not if Pedro will join United and in terms of Van Gaal’s philosophy, the versatile and flexible Pedro will be a much better suit than Di Maria.
