Ander Herrera has thanked Manchester United fans for their continued support towards him.
The Spanish midfielder came on as a second half substitute against Tottenham Hotspur to a chorus of Herrera chants from the Old Trafford faithful.
He became a fans’ favourite last year because of his excellent performances on the pitch and his kind nature off of it and he’ll now be beginning to feel extremely settled at the club having already been here for a season.
Last season Herrera had to fight for his way into United’s starting XI and earn himself a regular position in the team. It looks like he faces a similar battle this year.
Great start to the new season. Thanks to the fans for giving me such a great welcome. It's special to feel your support pic.twitter.com/et1HkhKjrv

It will be interesting to see where Louis van Gaal uses Herrera this season because he came on as a like for like replacement for Memphis Depay and played in the No.10 role behind Wayne Rooney.
He has previously played in that role before with Athletic Bilbao but last year was used in a more traditional central midfield role, so his versatility allows him to play effectively wherever Van Gaal wants him to.
That should give him the best opportunity to get regular game time and with there being so much competition in midfield this year at United, Herrera needs all the help he can get.
