Sean Goss has committed his long-term future to Manchester United by signing a new contract.
The 19-year-old midfielder was the big surprise on Man United’s pre-season tour as Louis van Gaal saw fit to include him in the travelling squad.
Van Gaal gave Goss his senior debut with a cameo appearance against Paris St-Germain and he has now put pen to paper on a new United deal.
Goss will still be on cloud nine from being included in the USA pre-season squad and the fact Van Gaal gave him his debut speaks volumes about how ready he is to give youngsters an opportunity, even if it was only a fleeting few minutes in the final game on tour.
Goss is the latest in a string of young players who have all signed new deals this summer including Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Matthew Willock and Josh Harrop.
After the excitement of the pre-season tour, Goss’ focus will now turn to the U21s Premier League and cementing a place in Warren Joyce’s starting XI.
