Bryan Robson backs Manchester United’s pursuit of Barcelona forward Pedro

Bryan Robson believes Barcelona forward Pedro would be a “very good signing” for Manchester United.

Pedro has been linked with a move to Man United for a number of weeks and Ed Woodward reportedly flew out to Spain on Tuesday to conclude a deal.

The forward is said to be unhappy at Barcelona due to a lack of first-team opportunities in the face of competition from Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Robson backed United’s pursuit of Pedro as he would give the squad some depth up front.

“I think we definitely need another striker, because if we get injuries to Memphis or Chicharito or Rooney,” he said.

“We’re very short on strikers at the moment, so I think Pedro would be a very good signing for United at this time.”

Pedro would walk into any other side in the world but he is just unfortunate that he has to compete with some supremely talented attacking players.

If United do manage to pull off the signing, they would be getting themselves a fantastic addition to the squad. Hopefully he arrives sooner rather than later so United can get on with their season.
