Louis van Gaal wants more additions at Manchester United but happy with business so far

Louis van Gaal is keen on making more additions to his Manchester United squad before the transfer window shuts, according to the MailOnline’s Mike Keegan.

Man United reportedly dropped their interest in long term target Pedro on Wednesday, which paved the way for the Spaniard to move to Chelsea instead.

Despite the setback, United’s transfer window has been a successful one; Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin and Sergio Romero have all come in.

But with 12 days of the window still remaining, Keegan has insisted that van Gaal is open to strengthening the squad before the window closes.

United’s mammoth bid for Thomas Muller and surprise interest in Saido Mane suggests that van Gaal is still an active figure in this summer’s transfer market.

With question marks looming over United’s somewhat destitute strike force, supporters will be keen to see another striker come to Old Trafford, the most popular of which is undoubtedly Muller; but the move looks unlikely since those from inside the Bayern setup have insisted that the Bavarian is going nowhere.

Additionally, talk of United’s need for a new centre-back persists amongst supporters despite the current partnership of Chris Smalling and Daley Blind showing signs of real progress. However, following three wins on the trot, van Gaal might be tempted to stick with his current crop of players. Whether this would be a sensible move remains open to debate.
