Neymar’s agent has dismissed speculation linking his client with a move to Manchester United.
It was reported last week that Man United made a ‘discreet enquiry’ to Barcelona regarding the players availability.
However, Neymar’s agent Wagner Ribeiro has dismissed claims that his client is set to join United and insisted that Neymar is happy at Barcelona.
“There is nothing. He has three years left on his contract,” Ribeiro said.
“The British newspapers are very speculative. Barcelona have never thought of selling Neymar and he is very happy there.”
It is no secret that United have been chasing a wide-player this summer with Louis van Gaal previously expressing his desire to bring a game-changer to Old Trafford.
With many believing Pedro to be top of United’s wish-list before his surprise move to Chelsea, attention has now moved elsewhere.
While a high-profile signing may be what many United fans want to see this summer, targeting a player who quite clearly has no interest in joining the club only serves to waste what valuable time is left of the transfer window.
The acquisition of a wide-player could make the difference in any potential title-charge but time is running out for the United hierarchy to identify their man and act upon it.
