Mike Keegan: Manchester United are not in for Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester United are not trying to sign Wolfsburg forward Kevin de Bruyne despite reports to the contrary, according to MailOnline’s Mike Keegan.

A report from Bild earlier this week claimed that Man United had entered the race to sign the German, who is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

After missing out on Pedro to Chelsea, United have been linked to a whole host of names including Gareth Bale, Thomas Muller and Neymar.

However, Keegan insisted that United are not in for De Bruyne:

The prospect of Memphis Depay, Juan Mata and De Bruyne lining up for United is a tantalising one but it appears Louis van Gaal is focusing on improving other aspects of the squad.

A world-class striker seems to be the priority, with the speculation surrounding Neymar and Muller growing in recent days. Of course, it is extremely unlikely that clubs will be willing to sell this late in the transfer window but there should be plenty of twists and turns in these last few days.
