Louis van Gaal intends to rotate Ander Herrera into his Manchester United squad

Louis van Gaal has explained that the only reason behind Ander Herrera‘s absence is because he has to rotate his Manchester United squad.

The Spanish midfielder has been pushed to the side after the arrival of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, much to the disappointment of fans.

After facing a similar problem last season, Herrera worked his way back into the side with some fantastic performances and became one of the first names on the team-sheet.

Due to that, many expected Herrera to be one of van Gaal’s more important players this season but that hasn’t been the case so far.

“We shall need every player, so I have to rotate,” van Gaal told reporters at his press conference before the Brugge game.

Van Gaal was always going to rotate players this year but with United looking so cumbersome in attack, somebody of Herrera’s verve and quality could change things and that’s left fans frustrated at his continued absence.

With lots more games coming up there is ample opportunity for Herrera to come back into the side and if he can repeat last season’s performances, he’ll become a regular starter once again this year.
