Manchester United transfer roundup: Real Madrid plan final push for David de Gea

by Ben Topliss

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Things were relatively quiet in terms of potential transfers on Thursday following Man United’s 4-0 win against Club Brugge in the Champions League but there were important updates on the future of David de Gea.

According to MailOnline’s Adam Crafton, Real Madrid will make one last push to sign the Manchester United keeper before the end of the transfer window.

United are said to be holding out for a world record fee for a goalkeeper but Madrid and De Gea are confident of reaching an agreement. However, The Telegraph later claimed that United are in fact sceptical that Madrid will make a fresh bid for the player. Who do we believe? Who knows.

Elsewhere, Morgan Schneiderlin revealed how he joined United this summer in a revealing interview with France Football.

Louis van Gaal rang the Frenchman while he was on holiday, convincing him that his future lied at Old Trafford.

There weren’t too many other rumours but hopefully it’s just the calm before the storm. United are in need of one or two quality reinforcements if they are to mount a serious Premier League title challenge this term.
