Gareth Bale reiterates desire to stay at Real Madrid despite Manchester United interest

Gareth Bale has reiterated that it is a “dream” to play for Real Madrid amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

Madrid fans often booed the Welshman following some subpar displays last season, leading to rumours he could join Man United.

Louis van Gaal has reportedly made two €100m bids for Bale this summer and there have been suggestions that United could make one last big bid for the end of the transfer window.

However, the player himself insisted he has a good relationship with the fans and that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu.

“The fans are good with me, and it is a dream for me to play for Real Madrid. I give everything for this shirt and the supporters,” he said.

It was always unlikely that United were going to sign Bale this summer and his comments simply confirm this.

Unless a ridiculous bid came in, clubs would never let go of their world-class talents this late in the window as they have next to no chance of getting a quality replacement in. Van Gaal may have something up his sleeve in the final days but it is unlikely that there will be any more incomings at Old Trafford after the failure to sign Pedro.
