From Spain: Real Madrid pushing David de Gea pursuit, want to present him on Tuesday

Real Madrid are already planning to present Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea to their fans on Tuesday, according to AS in Spain.

De Gea is yet to appear for the Reds this season, amidst heavy speculation that he is set for a move to the Spanish capital.

Despite the transfer window set to slam shut on Tuesday, Madrid are so confident that they can wrap up a deal for the 24-year-old that they are organising his unveiling.

De Gea has been called up for the Spanish national team’s internationals next week, which means he will already be in Madrid when the window closes.

Man United manager Louis Van Gaal has been adamant that the Spaniard will not be leaving this summer, with another year left on his contract. However, reports suggest that the club are now prepared to cash in on their player of the year for the past two seasons.

Real Madrid are rumoured to be readying their final bid for De Gea and, if AS are correct, it seems as though United are ready to accept an offer for their ‘keeper.

New signing Sergio Romero has deputised well in goal for the Reds, keeping four clean sheets in five games but it remains to be seen whether he will be Van Gaal’s first choice for the remainder of the season.
