Jonny Evans completed his move from Manchester United to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, with many fans wishing him well at his new club.
The 27-year-old was at Man United for 18 years and came through the youth system before finally making his first team breakthrough under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Evans struggled for a place in the side since Ferguson’s retirement, however, and is now looking to resurrect his career at West Brom.
United fans were a bag of mixed emotions over the departure of the Northern Irishman, with many sad to see him go, if only for the sentimental value he brings asa former youth player:
Jonny Evans is a good player, lovely guy and always a pleasure to chat to; intelligent, really understands the game. WBA have got a good 'un

Right time for Jonny Evans to move on. Struggled at United the last while. Good luck to him at West Brom.

Right time for Evans to go. Shame he couldn't kick on after a brilliant breakthrough season and 2012 renaissance. #mufc

Good luck to Jonny Evans at WBA. One of the good guys. 4yr deal. Joining another decent bloke Darren Fletcher. #mufc

Sad to see Jonny Evans go but sure he'll do great alongside fellow former Academy products Fletcher and Chester. He is a credit to the club.

Evans’ departure is part of a major clear-out that Louis Van Gaal has conducted since he took over at the club and the majority seem to feel it is the right move for both the player and the club.
Evans has not been involved yet this season for United and with Paddy McNair ahead of him in the pecking order of central defenders it is the perfect opportunity for him to further his prospects elsewhere.
