Victor Valdes’ move to Besiktas from Manchester United has broken down

Victor Valdes‘ move to Besiktas has broken down and he will now stay at Manchester United, reports Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst.

The Spanish goalkeeper was widely expected to complete his transfer to Besiktas this week and put an end to his Man United career only six months after he was signed as a free agent in January.

However, the transfer looks to have broken down and if that is the case then Valdes could potentially stay at United past the closure of the summer window.

The Daily Mail says Valdes’ terms proved to be a sticking point in the contract offer, which could be anything from wages to contract length.

It’s now reached the stage where United are going to have to strongly consider releasing Valdes from his contract and simply letting him walk out of the club.

His relationship with van Gaal is obviously past the point of repair and there is no point keeping him at United if he has no chance of playing.
