Anders Lindegaard is set to leave Manchester United and join West Brom on a free transfer.
The Telegraph reports that the deal will be announced this afternoon and the Dane will go straight in to provide competition for West Brom’s No.1 goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
Lindegaard has been on the periphery at Man United for a long time and he was expected to leave last summer but failed to find a new club.
For a spell when David de Gea was injured, the 31-year-old did a great job in goal for United but once the Spaniard was fully fit again he found himself pushed back to the bench and he has been there ever since.
He’s a solid goalkeeper and West Brom have done well to sign him. He suffered with the rise of De Gea into one of the world’s best ‘keepers but a fresh opportunity in the Premier League will do him the world of good.
Following the signing of Jonny Evans, it looks like Tony Pulis is building himself a nice collection of ex-United players which could serve him well during the course of the season.
