David de Gea to remain a Manchester United player for one more season

UEFA have announced that David de Gea will remain a Manchester United player for another season.

De Gea had been close to a move to Real Madrid late on Monday night but the transfer fell through at the last minute as the paperwork was not submitted in time.

Madrid had reportedly been planning an appeal but they have decided against that course of action.

Louis van Gaal has reportedly suffered a breakdown in his relationship with De Gea over the saga and it remains to be seen how he will be phased back into the starting XI.

The last few days have been full of twists and turns and it’s still incredibly hard to get your head around what has actually happened.

Once the dust has settled, and it will take a long time for it to do so, De Gea will have to refocus his attention on the Premier League. United play Liverpool following the international break and De Gea could well be involved. This has been madness from start to finish but United need to move on.
