Victor Valdes will not leave Manchester United despite transfer speculation – report

by Ben Topliss

Victor Valdes will not leave Manchester United before the end of the transfer window, according to Press Association Sport reporter Paul Hirst.

Valdes has suffered a breakdown in his relationship with Louis van Gaal and it looked like he would be on his way out.

The keeper was in talks with Besiktas but a move collapsed, while Marseille have not firmed up their interest.

As a result, Valdes will remain at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future:

Anders Lindegaard has left Man United for West Bromwich Albion and Valdes and David de Gea were expected to follow him through the exit door.

However, the news that they will both stay has come as a huge shock. There is a massive amount of uncertainty surrounding the duo and it is unclear where they stand in van Gaal’s thinking. Valdes has been training with United’s youth teams, while De Gea has not been included in any of the matchday squads so far this campaign.
