Liam Grimshaw and Kieran O’Hara leave Man United on loan

Manchester United have confirmed both Liam Grimshaw and Kieran O’Hara have left the club on loan deals.

Grimshaw has secured a move to Motherwell until January while O’Hara will spend one month with League Two side Morecambe on a youth loan spell.

It’s good to finally see Man United taking some initiative and sending younger players out on loan because there simply isn’t enough competitive football at U21s level for them to progress and improve.

Having previously spent some time on loan at Morecambe, Grimshaw is looking forward to the challenge of playing for Motherwell.

Speaking about the move, he said: “I’m looking forward to it and it’s a new experience for me.

“First of all, I’ll be looking to get into the side and then I’ll be looking to play as many games as possible, and try to improve as a player.

“I’ve played a few positions for United, starting at centre-back then right-back but I prefer midfield. I like to get my foot in and pass the ball simply. I’ve watched a few games in Scotland and know it’s a good standard and I can’t wait to get playing.”

O’Hara joins up with Morecambe following an injury to their reserve goalkeeper and it’s only a one month loan spell, but being away from United will expose him to other club cultures which always helps in the development of a younger player.
