Louis Saha believes Anthony Martial can become “a killer in front of goal” for Manchester United.
The scrutiny surrounding Martial has been intense following his £36m move to Old Trafford, with many labelling him as the next Thierry Henry.
Martial is currently away on international duty with France and a number of his teammates have also talked up his ability.
Saha insisted the youngster can become a great player under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal.
“Martial can create goals but he can also score goals. He can be trained to become a killer in front of goal,” Saha said.
“A lot of young players don’t specialise on one department in their game. They pretty much want to do everything so that is the challenge for Louis van Gaal with Martial.”
It is a lot of money for a 19-year-old and he will have huge pressure on his shoulders from day one at Old Trafford.
However, based on what pundits and teammates have been saying about Martial, it seems he is confident enough to handle the expectations that will be placed on him. A goal or two against Liverpool this weekend would certainly go a long way to endearing himself to fans.
