Louis van Gaal: Andreas Pereira has ‘space for improvement’

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted that Andreas Pereira has “space for improvement” despite his superb performance against Ipswich Town on Wednesday.

Pereira was one of the standout players for Man United during the 3-0 win, scoring the second goal with a fantastic free-kick.

However, van Gaal warned Pereira that he expects the Brazilian to carry on improving.

“He had a big participation in that game because he shoots the free-kick in a fantastic way,” van Gaal said.

“He’s been training on that. Like all the other players there is space for improvement for Pereira.”

Pereira was only making his first competitive start for United and you couldn’t have asked for much more from him.

The Brazilian has placed himself firmly in the manager’s thinking and will be hoping for some more first-team opportunities from here on out. Although van Gaal is notoriously difficult to impress, he simply cannot ignore performances such as the one from Pereira on Wednesday night.
