Marcos Rojo’s agent denies suggestions defender will leave Manchester United

The agent of Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has rubbished rumours that the Argentine will leave the club.

Gazetto Dello Sport claimed this week that Napoli are planning to make a move for Rojo in January.

The defender reportedly fell out with Louis van Gaal earlier in the summer after he failed to make the pre-season tour of the United States.

However, he should be needed at the back for Man United following Luke Shaw’s double leg break.

When asked about the situation, Rojo’s agent, Carlos Goncalves, said: ”There is no need to talk about it. The player is happy at United and has no intention of leaving the club.”

Rojo will be used at left-back for the foreseeable future now that Shaw is injured and it is unlikely that he will be shipped out anytime soon. Napoli have started the season awfully from a defensive point of view but they will need to look elsewhere for reinforcements to their backline.
