Bastian Schweinsteiger has been influential for Manchester United this season and he is calling on his team-mates to remain focused ahead of tonight’s Capital One Cup game against Ipswich Town.
The German midfielder started off the season slowly in order to build up his fitness but now that he is able to play the full 90 minutes, he’s becoming a central figure in Louis van Gaal‘s side.
Tonight, Man United will need to make sure that complacency doesn’t creep into their game which is always a dangerous factor when facing lower league sides and Schweinsteiger wants to make sure his team-mates remain switched on.
It’s been great to see how much of a leader Schweinsteiger has become at the club in a very short space of time. You can see him relaying instructions to his team-mates as well as speaking to younger players to help them out during and after the game.

United’s younger players couldn’t get a better mentor than Schweinsteiger could they? He’s a Champions League and World Cup winner, not to mention all the league and cup titles he has under his belt as well.
In terms of market value, the reported £6m Schweinsteiger cost could end up being the bargain of the summer and if he plays against Ipswich, he’ll hopefully make sure all the players stay switched on.
