Bastian Schweinsteiger continues to impress Manchester United fans

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger gave yet another midfield masterclass in the 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Wednesday.

The German captain helped Man United into the fourth round of the Capital One Cup with a typically efficient performance. It was the sort of display that fans are getting used to seeing from Schweinsteiger as he dictated the play all over the park.

The 31-year-old started in central midfield alongside Ander Herrera, after being left on the bench for the clash with Southampton on Sunday. He changed the came when he came on at St.Mary’s and followed up that showing with yet another impressive showing.

United fans and pundits were evidently delighted with their midfielder after the comfortable victory:

Every time Schweinsteiger pulls on the red shirt, United fans everywhere are still pinching themselves. There has been a drought of top quality central midfielders since the retirement of Paul Scholes but the acquisition of the former Bayern Munich man has added class to the centre of the park.

There were plenty of doubts over Schweinsteiger’s fitness when he made the move from Bavaria to Manchester but him completing another 90 minutes will definitely ease the worries of some fans. Since his arrival, his fitness has never seemed to be an issue as he has commanded games from midfield.

Louis van Gaal will be happy to have a fully fit Schweinsteiger at his disposal and United supporters will be hoping they get to see more of the German on Sunday when Sunderland visit Old Trafford.
