Paul Pogba agent Mino Raiola hits back at former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson

Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has hit back at Sir Alex Ferguson after the former Manchester United manager criticised him in his new book.

Ferguson, writing in his book Leading, blamed Raiola for Pogba’s departure from Man United in 2012.

Raiola dismissed the claims and insisted that Ferguson “doesn’t have a clue” about who Pogba is.

“Those words don’t describe my work in a negative way. I rate them as a proof that I am good at my job,” Raiola said.

“I have to do what’s best for my players’ sake. If I had looked only at my immediate gain, I would have kept Pogba in Manchester.

“But I put Pogba’s interests first and we decided to go to Turin. Maybe Ferguson only likes those who obey him. From his quotes, I understand that Ferguson still doesn’t have a clue who Pogba really is. Ferguson was an excellent manager, but the greatest managers can be wrong sometimes.”

For United supporters, the talk surrounding Pogba’s exit has become tiresome in the extreme. The Frenchman went on to become one of the best midfielders in the world at Juventus and, of course, United and Ferguson made a mistake in letting him go. But there is nothing that can be changed now and attention would be better focused on the current situation at Old Trafford and the team moving forward.
