Manchester United’s future looks bright with youngsters leading the way

Manchester United’s long tradition in youth was on show tonight against Ipswich Town.

While there were not many not academy players in the starting XI, it was the teenagers who stole the show on the night.

Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial, both 19, scored the second and third goals respectively in Man United’s comfortable 3-0 win over Ipswich. In particular, Pereira’s goal was fantastic not only for the technique on his free-kick but the fact he scored on his senior debut, just like Martial did against Liverpool.

Memphis Depay, 21, is also hopefully going to play a central role in United over the coming years as well, so the squad has plenty of young talents ready for the future.

Martial looks a cut above the rest so far in his United career, Pereira has always shown great promise and nobody is in doubt about Memphis’ ability, it’s just a case of when he can turn the taps.

Louis van Gaal has always said he is building a squad to leave behind for whoever follows him in charge and in this trio of players, there’s a wealth of attacking talent which could collectively score plenty of goals for United.
