Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has insisted he will be looking to score against Manchester United when the two teams face each other this weekend.
The former Liverpool striker made his move to Sunderland this summer and is eyeing a huge upset when the Black Cats visit Man United.
Sunderland are currently bottom of the Premier League and without a win in their opening six games.
They are favourites for the drop and are huge underdogs going into their game against United. However, Borini is looking forward to playing on the big stage.
“You always want to score against big teams and my aim is to try and score in every game,” he said.
“So I will recover as quick as possible and see [if I can score]. These are the games you want to play in. There will be 80,000 people at Old Trafford and we’re playing one of the best teams in the league.”
Sunderland were dispatched by current league leaders Manchester City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday as City cruised to a 4-1 win at the Stadium of Light. They will be looking to bounce back against their opponents city rivals.
Borini added: “Now we need to recover, train hard and prepare well to ensure we’re more compact than we were against Manchester City.”
Sunderland will know they have their work cut out for them at Old Trafford. United are starting to look like they are hitting a good run of form after beating both Liverpool and Southampton and Louis van Gaal’s side will be confident of getting through their latest challenge with a positive result.
