Manchester United keeper David de Gea has thanked fans for their support following the 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

Man United were subdued for large parts of the first half but eventually managed to secure a comfortable win thanks to goals from Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata.

De Gea himself didn’t have too much to do during the match but did he his job with a minimum of fuss when called upon.

The Spaniard expressed his delight following the match as United climbed to the top of the Premier League table:

There were suggestions that De Gea may not be mentally prepared for this campaign following his failed transfer to Real Madrid in the summer but he has shown he is fully committed to United.

United are currently in a rich vein of form and will be looking to carry on their winning run when they take on Wolfsburg in the Champions League next week.
