Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has identified Wolfsburg’s Julian Draxler as the danger man ahead of the clash between the two sides on Wednesday.
Draxler moved to Wolfsburg from Schalke this summer as a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne, who signed for Manchester City.
Draxler scored the only goal of the game in Wolfsburg’s opening Champions League fixture against CSKA Moscow earlier this month.
Van Gaal warned his players they must be wary of the German’s influence at Old Trafford.
“He was a very young talent when I was there [in Germany, managing Bayern Munich], so I know him,” van Gaal said.
“He has to go on a long road like [Anthony] Martial, although it could be a little bit shorter because he has been playing longer on that level. He is a very good player.”
United must get a positive result against Wolfsburg following the defeat against PSV Eindhoven in their opening game. Stopping Draxler will be key for van Gaal’s side, although the German outfit have a number of good players.
