Manchester United fans disappointed with Wayne Rooney yet again following display against Arsenal

Manchester united captain Wayne Rooney put in yet another dismal performance as his side crumbled to a 3-0 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday.

The skipper kept his place in the No.10 role behind Anthony Martial but could never impose himself on the game as he struggled along with the rest of the side as the Gunners blew them away in the first 20 minutes.

Man United supporters’ patience has been growing thin with Rooney as the England captain has struggled to find form this season. The 29-year-old broke his Premier League duck against Sunderland last week but could not build on the goal.

United fans and pundits made their feelings known about Rooney’s recent form:

With the international break now upon us, Rooney will hope he can find some form with his country before returning to Manchester. England’s all-time leading goalscorer has been finding the net regularly for the national team and United fans will be hoping his time away from his club could do him some good.

After Anthony Martial‘s impressive start to life at United, the pressure is certainly on Rooney to perform. He will be hoping that he can get back on top form while on international duty and he can use that as a platform to get his season started for his club.

United’s next game is a big one for Rooney on a personal level, as the Reds make the trip to Goodison Park to play Everton, Rooney’s former side. He will want to be at the top of his game for that particular clash and some good performances with England could aide that.
