Juan Mata believes Manchester United could take advantage of the inconsistency in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal beat Man United at the Emirates stadium last weekend but they have lost twice in the league this term along with Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are languishing near the bottom of the relegation zone having suffered a horrendous start to the campaign.
Mata insisted the unpredictability could be good for United and that he feels his own form has benefited from a long run in the starting XI.
“All the teams are slipping up here or there,” Mata said.
“When we faced Arsenal at the weekend we were leaders for the first time in a long time. It would be great to win something; it is what the fans are used to. The principal object is to get into the top four again but it would be fantastic to lift a trophy this season. As far as my own form is concerned, I feel good. It’s been a good start to the season and for me personally playing in every game, that continuity helps so much in terms of confidence.”
Mata has been in superb form this term and is really kicking on in terms of goals and assists. It doesn’t look like the upsets will end anytime soon in the Premier League and, with consistent displays from the likes of Mata, United could well take advantage and climb up the table.
