Anthony Martial starts first ever game for France vs Denmark

Didier Deschamps has decided to give Anthony Martial his first start tonight in France’s friendly against Denmark.

Following the injury to Karim Benzema, the 19-year-old has been drafted in at left-wing with Olivier Giroud taking over in the central striking role.

It’s fantastic news to see Martial starting against Denmark, even if it is only a friendly, because it’s an important step for him to take in his career ahead of Euro 2016.

The only way Martial can force his way into Deschamps’ plans for the tournament next summer is by impressing with Manchester United and more importantly with France.

He’ll be buzzing ahead of tonight’s game which kicks off at 19:45 BST and if he can put in the sort of performance which he has in every game so far for Man United, Deschamps will have to take notice.

As well as Martial, Morgan Schneiderlin starts in the defensive midfield role. After being left out of France’s first game, he’s got a point to prove to show he should be starting there every single game for France.
