Bastian Schweinsteiger has been left out of Germany’s starting XI to face Georgia on Sunday evening.
The midfielder suffered an injury in the build-up to the Ireland game at the end of last week and was left out of the squad but returned to training yesterday to put himself back in contention.
However, Joachim Low has decided against starting him and that’s probably good news from Manchester United’s perspective.

After his injury, playing Schweinsteiger from the start would certainly have risked further problems and Louis van Gaal will be pleased to see Low has decided against that.
Schweinsteiger will fly back to Manchester tomorrow following the end of the international break with Germany and then has one week to regain his fitness ahead of the trip to Everton next Saturday.
In the last international break, Schweinsteiger played the full 90 minutes in both of Germany’s matches and came back to Manchester with much better match fitness. This time around it’s going to be the opposite, but that’s football isn’t it? Hopefully a week’s worth of training is enough to get his sharpness back.
