Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes is enjoying a break from his duties with his club on a beach in Spain.
Valdes has only made two appearances for Man United since signing as a free agent in January and his situation at the club seems to be deteriorating drastically. It was reported earlier this week that Valdes no longer has a locker in United’s dressing room and is forced to train on his own, following his fall-out with Louis van Gaal.
The 33-year-old tried to leave the club this summer, only for a move to Besiktas to fall through at the last hurdle, leaving Valdes stuck at Old Trafford until at least January. It is clear van Gaal has no place for the former Barcelona ‘keeper in his squad, having signed Sergio Romero this summer.
Valdes has had an awful time at United and will want his Old Trafford career to come to an end as soon as possible. The Spaniard being on a beach during the international break rather than working his way to getting back into the first team is a clear indication that he feels his time at United is up.
It will come as no surprise to anyone should Valdes leave the club in January. His time at United has been controversial to say the least and it seems as if the player and the club, or the manager, were just never a good fit.
