Former France left-back Bixente Lizarazu has hailed Manchester United’s Anthony Martial as a “key player” for the national side following his performance in the 2-1 friendly win over Denmark on Sunday evening.
Martial put in a lively display and registered an assist as he played through Olivier Giroud to score.
The performance added to the furore surrounding Martial, who has also been impressing for Man United since his £36m move on deadline day.
Lizarazu hailed the youngster and picked him out as his Man of the Match following the clash in Copenhagen.
“He’s been a key player,” Lizarazu said.
”He added variety to his game and, with his pace, he can make an instant impact. And there’s the quality of his dribbling, not to mention his passing game: he gave an assist to Giroud.”
Martial has been nothing short of superb since making the move to Manchester and, aged just 19, the sky really is the limit in terms of what he can achieve. His attention will now turn back to the Premier League and the game against Everton this weekend.
