Manchester United Potential 4-3-3 vs Everton: Schneiderlin starts, Schweinsteiger dropped

by Sam Peoples

Morgan Schneiderlin‘s start to life as a Manchester United player has been curious; he went from almost guaranteed starter to bench warmer within the flash of an eye and has remained there since.

Louis van Gaal decided he wanted change and Bastian Schweinsteiger has been a regular starter ever since but after this international break, and the loss to Arsenal, more change could be around the corner.

Something I’d love to see is a return to the 4-3-3 formation which van Gaal holds close to his heart. He’s switched a 4-2-3-1 of late but with Wayne Rooney playing terribly in the No.10 role, on paper it looks best to cut that position out altogether and concentrate on emphasising the strengths on the wings.

Juan Mata is in a rich vein of form (Arsenal performance aside, like the rest of United’s players), Memphis Depay is hungry to succeed and Anthony Martial is the man of the moment.

Away at Goodison, which is always a tricky game, this formation could give United some real width which could cause Everton plenty of problems.
