Louis van Gaal confirms quadruple injury boost for Manchester United ahead of Everton clash

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick are available to face Everton this weekend despite the pair picking up injuries on international duty.

Rooney suffered an ankle injury while training with England while Michael Carrick picked up a groin strain.

Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera are not quite 100% but are available.

Paddy McNair, who suffered a ruptured liver while playing for Northern Ireland, will miss the game against Everton.

Van Gaal will be boosted by the return to fitness of his players. The international break saw a number of United’s squad pick up complaints and they could have been out for a lot longer.

Everton will provide a stern test at Goodison Park and United will need to have as many players available as they possibly can if they are to take away a positive result.
