Manchester United’s Anthony Martial has been named September’s Player of the Month for the Premier League.
The 19-year-old’s career in England started off with a bang against Liverpool when he scored a stunning goal just minutes into his debut and he followed that up with a brace against Southampton in Man United’s 3-2 win away at St. Mary’s.
As well as winning United’s Goal of the Month and coming narrowly second in United’s Player of the Month, Martial can now add this Premier League award to his cabinet.
What can you say about Martial that hasn’t already been said? Not much. The speed at which he has adapted to life in England feels unprecedented because he has made scoring goals look so easy and that’s considered the hardest thing to do in football.
Martial is building up a persona around himself of a player who is far beyond his tender age of 19. With a mature temperament, ice cool composure and the ability to become one of the world’s best, his start at United couldn’t have gone much better.
Now, his challenge is making sure that start wasn’t a flash in the pan and that he can continue that across the length of an entire season.
