Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Sergio Aguero will miss the Manchester derby later this month due to injury.
Aguero suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Argentina last week and is expected to be out for a month.
Meanwhile, David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov may also miss the game against Manchester United after picking up knocks.
Pellegrini admitted that Aguero has suffered an “important injury” which will keep him out for a while.
“Sergio has a muscle injury, an important injury. I don’t think he will be back before one month,” Pellegrini said.
Following the news, United really do not have any excuses when it comes to securing a positive result against City.
Aguero himself is a massive miss for Pellegrini’s side, but if Silva is absent as well then United would be handed a massive advantage. However, United’s immediate attention will be on the game against Everton at Goodison Park this weekend.
