Predicted XI: Everton vs Manchester United

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea – Who else? Sorry Sergio.

Matteo Darmian – Want to see him start at right-back which is certainly his best position.

Chris Smalling – Our best defender still. Will need him to bring his A-game for Romelu Lukaku.

Phil Jones – An injury to Ashley Young means Daley Blind will probably move to left-back, giving Jones a long awaited opportunity at centre-back.

Daley Blind – May end up being the long-term Luke Shaw replacement until he returns.

Bastian Schweinsteiger – He’s available and I’d like to see him start against Everton.

Morgan Schneiderlin – Would be a travesty if he is left out of United’s starting XI this weekend, simply needs to start.

Ander Herrera – Is now the time when Ander gets back in the side? Hope so, we need his incisive passing in behind Juan Mata.

Memphis Depay – Out of form and out of luck with Netherlands, Memphis is struggling at the moment but Young’s injury almost guarantees he’ll start.

Anthony Martial – Man of the moment. Can he score another? Louis van Gaal will certainly hope so.

Juan Mata – Get the feeling Juan will be very important for United if we’re going to win at Goodison Park.

Formation: 4-3-3 – Enough of a 4-2-3-1 formation with two holding midfielders, time for van Gaal to bring back his favoured 4-3-3 formation.
