Ashley Young congratulates Manchester United teammates after ‘excellent’ win against Everton

Ashley Young has congratulated his teammates following Manchester United’s “excellent” 3-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.

Man United recorded their biggest league away win under Louis van Gaal after goals from Morgan Schneiderlin, Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney sealed a convincing victory for the Dutchman’s side.

Young was forced to watch from the sidelines after picking up a calf injury last week.

Regardless, he was thrilled by the emphatic victory in what is traditionally a challenging fixture:

The result leaves next weekend’s mammoth clash with Manchester City finely poised; just two points separate the Manchester clubs.

An ability to win away from home in resounding fashion is something prevalent amongst teams challenging for the title. But under van Gaal’s tutelage, performances away from home have been largely idle and ineffective.

However, Saturday’s result was a boost for United’s title credentials and a fitting warmup for next weekend’s game, which promises to be United’s sternest test of the season so far.
